Marketing

 

Currently Hoosier Media utilizes traditional media vehicles for marketing. This includes print advertising to solicit new and renewal newspaper subscriptions. Other marketing tactics currently used include regional television and radio advertising spots. Management has expressed interest in expanding its marketing reach through social media and mobile app technology but is unsure how to move forward in those areas.

 

Information technology

 

Hoosier Media’s newsroom is in dire need of technological updates. All workstations currently have desktop computers; however, many employees have been requesting the ability to work from home as well as have access to company networks while on the road for business. Many of the younger employees would like to have access to iPads and would like to replace their desktop computer with lightweight laptop computers.

Chapter 2 Case Study: Hector Gaming Company

This case points up a very common problem found in many businesses. Implementing organization strategy, in a large part, represents projects. In many firms there is no interdependent way to prioritize projects. This gap causes conflicts similar to those noted in the HGC case. Proposed projects typically come from functional areas such as marketing, production, information systems, finance, etc. with no central clearing house to ensure that resources are adequate and projects are prioritized with the strategic plan.

The World Bank regularly prepares annual reports on to analyze various dimensions of economic development across the developing regions of the world. In this project, focus will be on all the six (6) regions that are still undergoing development:  Africa, East Asia and Pacific, (Central and Eastern) Europe and Central Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, and South Asia.  Specifically, the file  ” Regional Analyses.pdf” highlights the 2016 regional annual report prepared by the World Bank. While the report was prepared in 2016, it is relevant today as it projects strategies and goals to address extreme poverty and promote sustainable development in some of the poorest countries in the world. 

 

 You are going to use this report to address/summarize the following broad policy questions that follow.
