Make a GIPHY using hand drawn images showing the different parts of the alimentary canal (i.e the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine). Also show the lesser and greater omenta and the mesentery in your GIPHY. It is important that used images are hand drawn by  you and not copied and pasted from the internet.

Create an instructor’s narrated PowerPoint presentation to teach students about internal and external validity. The presentation is to be narrated and usable in a teaching environment. Include the following:

Overview introduction on why researchers should be aware of internal and external validity.

Internal Validity

Define internal validity.

To develop a set of learning activities designed to help a class of pre-kindergarten students gains story knowledge competencies, and to evaluate the potential effectiveness of the activities.

Youve been hired to work as a curriculum developer for a large pre-K provider. As you review the current syllabus used for instruction, it becomes obvious that almost all the emphasis has been on learning letter sounds and word construction, with very little, if any, attention paid to the meaning of the stories, and even less to the concepts that are the foundation of story-making. The task is a little daunting because concepts are, by their nature, very abstract.

Focus Assignment

1. Identify four age-appropriate books that teach a moral, or other lessons, that you would use to teach reading skills to pre-kindergarten students. Design a learning activity based on each of the books that focuses on helping students to explore the meaning of the story, that is, to understand the message the story conveys. Describe the story elements that are common to the four books you have selected. Create an additional learning activity for two of the books that teach basic story structure (beginning, middle, end), as well as the use of theme and plot.
2. Be sure to read the SELF-EVALUATION section below to guide your thinking. Write your self-evaluation after you have completed mapping out your plan.

1. For each activity:
     a. Explain how this activity addresses the issues in the scenario.

2. Describe and justify how your approach would improve teaching and learn in the scenario.

Health determinants

Create a PowerPoint presentation to illustrate and explain how the core determinants of health are impacting the health of the elderly population utilizing the picture below. Note that you should briefly review all of the determinants and then choose the ones that impact your target group to talk about in the assignment.  Be sure to review the link information in the classroom on Core Determinants of Health.  You will then use the power point you created as a visual and record your voice, narrating your power point.

Final Thoughts on Social Media and Society

Monique Ballenger

This class was very interesting. I have learned that social media is the future. I say its the future because nobody doesn’t read newspapers or look through phonebooks for phone numbers. I remember being a little girl playing outside with dirt and using my imagination. Now every little you see is carrying a phone and doing TikTok. Everybody is on social media reading the news. I learned that social media is being watched by employers. You can get fired from your job if you do post nasty comments about the job. I also learned that the First Amendment comes with consequences. This class has taught me that social media isn't a great place to show your frustration.

My favorite part of the course was learning about social media and work. Social media affects a lot of things. Once you post about your job in a negative way, you have consequences to deal with. I could have written my papers better because I felt I didn't do a good job. For example, I could've taken my time and not rush my papers. I also could've researched a lot more about what im doing my paper on. For example, instead of looking at one or two websites, I could've used the library to read articles on the topic.

I will be doing more research and not rushing my papers. If I take my time in writing my papers, I would be satisfied with my grades. I will use the information I got from this class and apply it in my future by explaining to my kids that not everything goes on social media. My kids are my future so I have to explain to them that social media will be used a lot and they need to be aware that it might take over them when they get older.

Hello Class!

It is hard to believe that this is the very last week because it feels like yesterday, we were just starting week 1, time has really flown by. I have really learned a lot because it has opened my mind to the social media world especially from reading everyone's posts and reading their opinions on certain topics. I actually like the fact that I was carrying on conversations with my fellow classmates. I know many older adults tend to talk about the younger generation using social media for just about everything but really that is not necessarily a bad thing. I got a clearer understanding of individuals using social media to build their brand or use it as a marketing strategy. As I participated more in the discussion’s posts and assignments, I learned more background information on all these Social Media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. However, this class also teaches you how to be aware of the dangers of exposing too much on social media and how to monitor what you do. Out of all the four classes I took this Semester, this was by far my favorite class when it came to discussing the weekly forums with you all. I wish everyone the best of luck with their educational goals from here on.

Animals are used for many different services: companionship, guard dogs, therapy animals, truffle-hunting pigs, polo ponies, and so on. People harvest all sorts of animal products from wool and leather to glue and even heart valves. People also use them for testing products. In 1933, more than a dozen women went blind after using Lash Lure mascara (National Academy Press, 2004). The compounds in this product literally burned their eyes and resulted in blindness and even death in one case. This led to the use of animals for safety testing of cosmetics. Today, animal testing for safety and efficacy of drugs, sweeteners, food additives, and medical treatments is commonplace. These uses are controversial, however, not only because the animals may suffer during the process and are often euthanized at the end of a test, but because even closely related mammals do not respond to drugs or toxins the same way humans do much of the time.

Choose 1 of the following topics:

Physical adaptations are one way plants adjust to specific environmental conditions. For example, cacti have spines in place of leaves to prevent water loss in the arid conditions of the desert. Chemical adaptations are another means for plant protection. Many plants produce toxic or noxious compounds to protect themselves from insects or animals that would eat them, to reduce competition from other plants, or even to change the response of pollinators. Humans often harvest these compounds for their own benefit.

  1. Choose 1 of the following compounds:
    • Caffeine
    • Cocaine
    • Nicotine
  2. Answer the following for the compound you chose in the form of a 12-page paper.
    • Describe the compound and in what plant(s) it is found.
    • Explain how this compound provides protection for the plant.
    • Does the compound provide any other benefits for the plant, such as enhanced pollination?
    • What effect does the compound have on humans?
  3. Utilize at least 1 credible source to support the arguments presented in the paper. Make sure that you cite appropriately within your paper, and list the reference(s) in APA format on your Reference page.
  4. Formatting guidelines: In accordance with APA formatting requirements, your paper should include Title and Reference pages; should be double-spaced; and should include a running head and page numbers. Your paper should be 12 pages in length, not counting the Title page, and Reference page.
