Premier Consulting’s Two Consultants

Premier Consulting’s two consultants, Avery and Baker, can be scheduled to work for clients up to a maximum of 160 hours each over the next four  (4) weeks. A third consultant Campbell has some adminstrative assignments already planned and is availble for clieents up to a maximum of 140 hours over the next four (4) weeks. a) Develop a network representation of the problem.

b) formulate the problem as linear program, with the optimal solution providing the hours each consultant should be scheduled for each client to maximize the consulting firm’s billings. What is the schedule and what is the total billing?

c)New information shows that Avery doesn’t have the experince to be scheduled for client B. If this consultingnassignment is not premitted, what impact does it have on total billings? What is the revised scheduled?

Final Project

Pathology is the study of the nature and cause of disease.  In the Funeral Service profession, we deal with the unfortunate results of disease.  In order to appropriately prepare the dead for disposition, part of our profession is to understand a variety of diseases that may appear on a death certificate.   Moreover, a part of the profession (although not required, but expected) is to help the family to understand why their loved one died. 

 

 The cause of death for each was found on actual death certificates.  The names and locations have been changed to protect the innocent….

Everyone is to read the two introductions and the foreword to the book.  Underline or otherwise note what interests you.  The “Introduction to the Twentieth Anniversary Edition” makes the case that a book which in 1985 focused so much on television is still relevant today.  For instance, he quotes one college student as saying, “When I go to a restaurant, everyone’s on their cell phone, talking or playing games.  I have no ability to sit by myself and just think.”  Several years ago, in discussing this book, one student athlete confessed in class that she realized how ridiculous things were getting on a road trip when so many of her team members were sitting in their seats texting other people on the bus.  “Why didn’t we just talk face-to-face to our friends on the team?” she wrote.  Inspired by this book, she began making a serious effort to communicate more often personally and directly with the people she cared about.
