Visit the Research Methods research guide in the University of Arizona Global Campus Library and search the databases for a minimum of one peer-reviewed journal article published within the last 10 years about each of the research designs you selected. The articles must not be research studies using the designs. Instead, they must be about how to conduct a study using the design. Examples of acceptable articles for this assignment are listed at the Suggested Articles tab in the Research Methods research guide.

In your paper, briefly outline the topic you selected for your Final Research Proposal in Week One and apply the scientific method by suggesting both a specific research question and a hypothesis for the topic. Evaluate your chosen peer-reviewed articles summarizing each and explaining how the research design described could be useful for designing original research on your topic. Compare and contrast the paradigms or worldviews inherent in the methodology associated with each research design. Apply professional standards and situate yourself as a researcher by identifying which of these approaches best fits with your worldview.

The Research Methods Literature Review

  • Must be four to six double-spaced pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style

Week 3 Diss

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapter 1 in the Frost e-book, Qualitative Research Methods in Psychology, and the required journal articles for this week. Also review last weeks  In that scenario, the three instructors realized there are limits to the insights they can gain through anonymous counting of discussion posts. The instructors would like to answer two additional research questions: (a) How do their students actually feel about the intervention? and (b) How do students view the influence of the intervention on their learning inside and outside of the classroom (if applicable)?

In your initial post, compare the characteristics of appropriate research designs and recommend a qualitative research design that would facilitate answering the instructors additional questions. Explain the philosophical paradigm underlying the recommended approach. Evaluate the required articles for this week and describe the  assumptions the instructors might have to set aside as they enter into a qualitative research study. Be sure to identify any ethical issues that may apply to the research. Review the characteristics of the quantitative approach you described in the Week Two discussion. Explain the ways in which the quantitative approach and paradigm differs from the qualitative approach and paradigm you have recommended here.

Project

Week 2 Project

Instructions

Collecting Customer Data

This course has major project assignments due in Week 3 and Week 5. It will take more than a week’s effort to adequately complete them. Plan time to start the research and work on those assignments earlier than the week in which they are due.

Using the same organization selected in Week 1 for the course project.  Presume that the organization you selected has recently implemented a customer relationship management (CRM) system.

  • Research the key elements of a CRM system and defend at least three best practices that your organization can use to improve its customer retention. Make sure you support your choices with well-reasoned arguments and external sources.
  • Justify at least five critical pieces of customer information needed from your key market segment. Why do you need to collect this specific data?
  • Justify five survey questions that might be used to evaluate the segments experience with your organization. Why do you need to know this information?
  • Justify a plan for how customer data (previous two bullet points) will be collected. The plan should detail the methods to be used (e.g. written survey, focus groups, interviews, etc.) and where those methods will be integrated into the organizations processes (e.g., a hotel sending an e-mail survey following a customers stay at a specific location).

Submission Details:

  • Submit your plan in a 3- to 4-page Microsoft Word document, using APA style.
  • Name your plan document SU_MBA6011_W2_LastName_FirstInitial.doc.
  • Submit your document to the Submissions Area by the due date assigned

Discussion

Review the important themes within the sub questions of each bullet point. The sub questions are designed to get you thinking about some of the important issues. Your response should provide a succinct synthesis of the key themes in a way that articulates a clear point, position, or conclusion supported by research. Select a different bullet point section than what your classmates have already posted so that we can engage several discussions on relevant topics. If all of the bullet points have been addressed, then you may begin to reuse the bullet points with the expectation that varied responses continue.

Explain why it is important for marketers to monitor current trends in marketing. How does a marketing information system identify and measure trends? How would you design a marketing information system for a product of your choice?

Justify your answers with examples, research, and reasoning. Your initial posting should be the equivalent of 1.5 single-spaced pages (700 to 800 words) in length.

Discussion 1

Conduct online search to locate current healthcare accrediting bodies. Compare and contrast them with The Joint Commission (TJC) with respect to Electronic Health Record requirements and communication with patients through web portals or other means. Your initial post comprising a minimum of 250 words should have 2-3 credible sources/peer reviewed references

Discussion 2

Financial reporting is critical to the success of any organization because this is how managers and other stakeholders evaluate the sustainability and profitability of an organization. The healthcare industry accounts for nearly 20% of the US GDP as of 2018 (BEA, 2019). While there is guidance for financial reporting to the respective government agencies, there is no consistency in the development of financial reports among private healthcare organizations. Discuss the importance of consistent financial reports across all healthcare organizations. Support your statements with research and post your discussion in a few paragraphs

Article Research Paper Instructions:Article Research Papers and Posting: This is a graduate course and students will be expected to research and write papers summarizing in their own words what they have found on current topics from the weekly readings. Research is a theoretical review of relevant literature and application of findings in the literature to a topic related to a specific industry, field, or business problem. The research must be conducted using peer-reviewed trade or academic journals. While Blogs, Wikipedia, encyclopedias, course textbooks, popular magazines, newspaper articles, online websites, etc. are helpful for providing background information, these resources are NOT suitable resources for this research assignment. Please Note: The UC Library staff are very helpful with assisting students in using the UC Online Library journal database. Please contact them if you have issues. In addition, the instructor has provided additional resources, including a research tutorial, in the Course Resources folder in the Content area of the course.

Assignment Requirements:

  1. Choose a research topic from the chapter readings or from the list provided by your professor.
  2. Research/find a minimum at least four (4), preferably five (5) or more, different peer-reviewed articles on your topic from the University of the Cumberlands Library online business database. The article(s) must be relevant and from a peer-reviewed source. While you may use relevant articles from any time frame, current/published within the last five (5) years are preferred. Using literature that is irrelevant or unrelated to the chosen topic will result in a point reduction.
  3. Write a four (4) to five (5) page double spaced paper in APA format discussing the findings on your specific topic in your own words. Note – paper length does not include cover page, abstract, or references page(s).
  4. Structure your paper as follows:
    1. Cover page
    2. Overview describing the importance of the research topic to current business and professional practice in your own words
    3. Review of the Literature summarized in your own words. Note that this should not be a copy and paste of literature content, nor should this section be substantially filled with direct quotes from the article. A literature review is a summary of the major points and findings of each of the selected articles (with appropriate citations). Direct quotations should be used sparingly. Normally, this will be the largest section of your paper (this is not a requirement; just a general observation).
    4. Practical Application of the literature. Describe how your findings from the relevant research literature can shape, inform, and improve current business and professional practice related to your chosen topic.
    5. Conclusion in your own words
    6. References formatted according to APA style requirements
  5. Upload your paper to the drop box in the Week 6 folder AND attach your paper to the related Discussion board by the Friday due date (130 points). Please note: you must upload your paper to the drop box AND post your paper to the discussion forum in order to receive full credit.
  6. Read and respond to at least four (4) other student postings in the discussion forum by the Sunday due date (20 points).

This is the second (2nd) of two steps required for the Week 6 Article Research Paper assignment. To complete step 2, you need to make an initial post that includes your Article Research Paper submitted in step 1. Please note the following instructions:

  1. Copy and Paste the body of your paper into the body of your discussion board post. I understand this will skew the formatting of portions of your paper, but this makes your paper more accessible to students seeking to review it as part of this forum.
  2. Be sure to also attach your paper to your discussion board post (yes, you need to both copy-and-paste your paper into the body of your post AND attach your paper as an MS Word document). This will enable students to also view your paper in a properly formatted Microsoft Word format.

Wrongdoing in the Workplace TACC

1-2 page summary of an employment accountability- or ethics-related event that, in your opinion, has had the largest impact on the workplace today.  Introduction In the previous assessments, you examined the evolution of employment law and the changing rules in the workplace. You considered the rules of the employee-employer relationship and the related laws. This assessment looks at the core issues related to employment law in the workplace today and how they might be changing the way we work.  It certainly seems that there is a lot of wrongdoing in the workplace. In this assessment, you will move away from the common understanding of discrimination and move toward a legal grounding in what constitutes wrongdoing. Of particular interest are the current hot issues in the workplace that we read about every day.  Ethics Violations Ethics violations put executives on the front pages of newspapers, in the courtrooms, and sometimes in jail cells. However, to examine ethics violations without considering human resources policy issues would be a mistake. This assessment tests your ability to put these issues in a broader context and look at the employment relationship that was established on the date of hire and the communication and accountability that occurred during the employment period. The Department of Labor is very explicit about defining accountability and continues to broaden the definitions over time. It is reasonable for companies to claim that employees, especially managers, are responsible for their actions and words with staff, even outside of the workplace.  Accountability Creating a policy and placing it in a binder or on a Web site is not enough to absolve companies of individuals’ wrongdoings. Moreover, identifying the wrongdoing by terminating individuals is not enough. Over the years, legislation has aimed to punish corporations financially when their employees have committed misdeeds. It is hoped that with the law getting stronger, behavior and working interactions are getting better.  Use the Capella library and the Internet to research an event that, in your opinion, has had the largest impact on the workplace today.  Then, write a 12 page summary that reflects the importance of this event. In this summary:  Identify an event that greatly impacted today’s workplace. Describe why you believe the event you chose is significant. Discuss the event’s relation to current trends. Relate the event to a personal experience. This can be the experience of a friend, coworker, relative, or yourself. Additional Requirements Written Communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message. APA Formatting: Resources and citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting guidelines. Font and Font Size: Times New Roman, 12 point, double-spaced. Use Microsoft Word to complete the assessment. Length: A minimum of 12 pages, excluding title page and reference page (150300 words per question). Competencies Measured By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:  Competency 2: Analyze trends and changes in the laws on diversity, gender, and harassment. Discuss event’s relation to current trends. Competency 3: Apply the laws and safety issues in the workplace. Identify an event that impacts today’s workplace. Describe personal opinion on event’s significance. Competency 6: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, and consistent with expectations for members of the human resource profession. Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, and consistent with expectations for members of the human resource profession.

Analyze Qualitative Data

For the Week 6 assignment, perform qualitative thematic data analysis using the three video transcripts below The topic of the transcripts is Business Startups.

Describe your chosen approach to analyze the data from these three transcripts; support your chosen approach using references. Be sure to consider the type of data collected to create procedures for a comprehensive analysis. In your description, clearly define your approach to:

(a) organizing data
(b) coding and thematic development
(c) triangulation
(d) using software applications

Then identify at least three (3) themes you extracted from the three video transcripts. The number of themes will be based on your selected framework. For each theme:

(a) Label the theme
(b) Define the themes concept based on the interpretation of the data.
(c) Include a 2-3 direct quotes from the data that best represent how the theme is conceptualized.

As with all other assignments, your approach must be systematic, logical, fully explained, and supported with scholarly sources. Use the resources provided, and at least three other peer-reviewed articles to defend your research plan.

Length: 2-4 pages

Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
