As you are aware, the goal of English 1B is to develop your research skills to thecollege level and to teach you to use research to support your argument. A closereading of a primary source can give insight into a subject, but in order to get a moreinformed and comprehensive perspective, one needs to look to experts. A publishedcommentary by a critic who knows the subject well and is familiar with the materialcan provide insights that otherwise may not be available. Such comments andinterpretations – known as secondary sources can take you into an issue further thanif you made the journey by yourself.

Consider the topics that have come up in the course readings, topics related to“global rights and perceptions”. Identify a compelling social issue you would liketo address. Narrow it down to a topic that can be usefully dealt with in about 5-8pages. Begin your paper with a clear focus: the purpose of convincing others toagree with your ideas, share your values and accept your argument and solutions. Then attempt to make your thinking believable. Instead of relying on personalfeelings and observations, find quotations from readings and corroboration of yourclaims in secondary sources to support your main idea. A minimum of five scholarlycritical sources is required, out of which you may use only one (non-published)electronic source.

Remember your goal is to get the reader to understand and possibly accept yourinterpretation and argument. Keep in mind that your reader will be unbiased butcritical, therefore, evidence not rhetoric will be needed to accomplish your goal.

Paper FormatPapers should be five to eight pages long, titled, typed (no smaller than 12 font size)double-spaced, numbered and stapled together, with a separate page each for title(optional, graphics welcome) and bibliographical citations. Remember to use MLAformat for in-text citation, documentation and bibliographic purposes. You can usecharts, graphs, clip art, or illustrations that enhance the appearance of your finishedproject.

Papers will be judged on critical insight, originality and an ability to formulate apersuasive argument validated by appropriate illustration and documentation.Grammatical and stylistic problems detract significantly from the impact of the paper. Please make sure the paper is thoroughly proofread and free of such errors.

Oral Presentation

You will be required to do a five-eight minute presentation on your paper to theclass. This presentation should include your thesis, your research ideas, and theconclusion to which you arrived. Be sure to address the major concerns of yourpaper and to cite research to support your central idea. Also included should be astatement on why your research is significant or enlightening to you and youraudience. In order to meet the time constraint, please choose only pertinent detailsfrom your project. You can use any props or aids that you desire to enliven yourpresentation.

● At least 5 resourse● Paper should be 25% based on research, 75% own writing and thought

PEERS POST:

Hello Class,

This week, I would love to continue talking about Jose! To develop a healthy and long-lasting relationship with Jose, I will start by greeting him every morning. With a warm and welcome greeting, Jose will know that he is wanted and that I am excited he came to school today! Building my connection with Jose will start with the morning greetings, because children who are welcomed and greeted every day will start to feel loved and important. I will then take the next steps of building my relationship with him by having a one-on-one session with him during small group time. This will ensure that he and I have plenty of time to bond and work together with things that may seem challenging to him. Next, I would like to have a fun way of ending the day with him by allowing him to select a sensory bin to play with before mom picks him up.

I think that each of these strategies will allow for him and I to bond by building trust, happiness, and love. When students are happy with their teachers, they tend to listen and understand on a higher level and challenging behaviors tend to decrease.

When it comes to Jose’s parents, two strategies that I will suggest furthering this bond will be to have Jose on time everyday so that he stays on a routine and that they share and talk about his day after pickup so that they can understand what I am doing to make his transition easier.

After watching the TED Talk by Rita Pierson, I have to say that I had a smile on my face the whole time and I enjoyed the video so much that I shared it on my Facebook for all of my teacher friends to watch! One of my favorite parts from this video is when Pierson says, “I think Stephen Covey had the right idea. He said, you ought to just throw in a few simple things, like seeking first to understand, as opposed to being understood” (Pierson, 2013, 02:14). This means, to me, that when you understand a child first, then everything else will fall into place.

MY POST:

There can be no significant learning without a meaningful connection. Some individuals believe that you either have or cannot form a relationship. Therefore, the student of my choice is Jose. The first strategy I will use to ensure I build a connection with my student is to keep the lines of communication open (Pierson, 2013). Apart from getting to know my student, I should stay in touch with him throughout the semester or school year. By scheduling one-on-one sessions with Jose to check in on a regular basis, I will be able to improve the classroom's accessibility for everyone constantly. Jose might discuss whether or not he felt a part of the classroom culture. The other strategy is allowing Jose some leeway and flexibility. Because the essential lessons are typically gained through a student's personal experiences, allowing Jose some autonomy in the course increases more engagement with the material. I should also let Jose read and deliver his resources related to the core lesson to approach the subject from his point of view.

The last strategy is to recognize and value Jose as a student. Jose must also value and appreciate his various backgrounds and those of his peers. Learning how to discuss other cultures respectfully is critical for success in life beyond the classroom. I would suggest that his parents build their bond by playing games with their son. Play is crucial to a child's growth. The power of play can help young children acquire a variety of skills. It can enhance Jose's language skills, emotions, creativity, and social abilities, in addition to being fun and helping them develop their bond with their child. They must also be available (Cavanaugh, 2013). They need to set aside time to speak with their child without interruptions; even 20 minutes per day can make a significant difference in developing excellent communication habits. An example from Rita Pierson's TED Talk that will help me explain why I think it is so essential to create a relationship with every young child is that one should just add a few simple things, such as wanting first to understand rather than be understood. Things as simple as apologizing. Every child deserves a champion, someone who will never give up on them, recognizes the importance of connection and pushes them to be the best they can be.

InstructionsforRogerianArgumentOutline.docx

Instructions for Rogerian Argument Outline.

1. Study the PowerPoint presentations, "Rogerian Argument Outline," Rogerian Argument Thesis Statement," and "Rogerian Argument Common Ground," paying careful attention to the examples provided.

2. Study the document, "Annotated Rogerian Argument Essay Outline" to understand the structure of the Rogerian Argument and to learn what the focus of each paragraph should be.

3. Follow the structure in the outline document and create an outline for your Rogerian argument essay.

· As part of the information you include for your Introduction Paragraph, write a complete thesis statement. Type the thesis in bold font to make it easy for your instructor to locate it.

· At a minimum, the body paragraph outlines should include complete topic sentences for each paragraph and two or three supporting statements with evidence from your research sources.

· When you get to the Compromise/Solution section (body paragraph 6 on the outline), take time to consider a compromise that allows both sides to achieve part of their goal, that is measurable and feasible, and that does not ask one side to simply change their minds. Then, use complete sentences to fully explain your proposed compromise/solution. Your compromise must be supported by evidence from your research. Appealing to logos can be a helpful tactic here.

4. Finish the outline with a few notes on what you will include in the conclusion paragraph.

Creating a robust outline by following these instructions carefully will make it easier to write your Rogerian Argument essay next week, and it will also allow your instructor the opportunity to provide feedback on how you are planning your essay, which often helps increase your final essay grade.

Originally wanting to add 2 games, the NFL recently went to a 17-game regular season after adding just 1 game for the 2021-2022 season. This was a hotly debated topic between the NFL and its players. While the obvious benefit to the NFL as a business was the additional revenue, player concerns over increased injuries were heard from around the league. While you dont need to read a paper on recovery and injury to understand that additional football games equal more player injuries, this new found knowledge makes it easy to articulate the finer points of the players arguments.

As we discussed earlier in the semester the acute:chronic workload ratio is important to understand when looking at an athletes fitness and where that puts them in terms of injury susceptibility. While chronic workload can be looked at as the athletes general physical preparedness (GPP), acute chronic workload is likened to their state of fatigue (Gabbett. 2016).  As Gabbett (2016) goes on to mention, an increase of greater than 10% in training volume per week significantly increases the chances of a non-contact soft tissue injury.

As with any sport, fitness typically declines in the later part of the season due to a variety of reasons. Athletes need to recover between games giving them less time in the weight room. Mid-season injuries may also cause a loss of fitness due to being unable to perform in-season training sessions. This detraining is what Gabbett (2016) talks about when he says that athletes that train at lower volumes are more susceptible to injury. As what was once a zero-sum training load increase week over week, now becomes an increase of greater than 10%. The same athlete that is asked to play 75% of the game at the beginning of season is not the same the athlete that is asked to paly 75% of the game at the end of the season.

While managing training and playing volume is an important aspect to injury prevention, recovery from training and playing is another piece to the puzzle. One facet of recovery is sleep. Lack of sleep has been shown to reduce muscle glycogen levels along with decreased parasympathetic modulation which is associated with overtraining (Hausswirth and Mujika. 2013). While this data was collected on sleep deprivation lasting 8 or more hours, even losing a couple hours of sleep over night, be it from going to bed late or waking up earlier than normal has been shown to reduce maximal work rate compared to baseline values (Hausswirth and Mujika. 2013).

Coaches should have a formal discussion with their players about the importance of sleep to create buy-in. Athletes are people and like everyone else have their own needs that revolve around their personal lives. Personalizing sleep schedules to the athlete will lead to a greater degree of compliance resulting in greater recovery.

RESPOND TO THIS POST 150 WORDS

Sleep is an essential component in our lives to aid us in energy regulation. Ensuring adequate rest also helps in thermoregulation, cognitive functioning and muscle repair. Our body goes through a breakdown of muscle fibers during exercise and are rebuilt during rest/sleep. When improper rest is occurring, the body essentially isnt given the amount of time needed to repair and rebuild, leaving the body in a catabolic state the next day. Another important factor to consider with sleep loss in athletes is glucose stabilization as glucose production typically decreases during rest.

For example, a study was conducted on seven national level competitive swimmers for 14 consecutive days with high intensity training and rest days. This particular study analyzed not only their sleep quality, but also the time of day they trained and how it affected their ability to rest. The athletes being studied self-reported that their lack of sleep greatly affected their performance during training and decreased motivation. It was also reported that the swimmers took naps during training days when they could but rarely during non-training days. Overall, the study concluded that due to the athletes training schedule at 6:00am on training days, their sleep averaged to less than six hours the night prior to training, regardless of attempting to fall asleep earlier in the evening. A way to prevent sleep loss can be as simple as changing the training time to a few hours later to ensure athletes are receiving enough rest.

Recovery in my opinion is a more crucial factor in an athletes ability to perform from day to day. Because if an athlete has gone through a game or a workout. Then, the next day it is ok to be a little sore but not to the point of the athlete under performing or not being able to perform to there normal ability. One of the biggest thing in an athletes recovery time is proper nutrition and sleep. proper nutrition and hitting the proper macros for the specific athlete is crucial in the athletes ability to recover but to also regenerate and make stronger the muscles that you already have. Sleep is very important within the recovery process. It is one of the few times when athletes are actually able to relax the mind and body for it to be able to recover properly. This is when a majority of the the nutrition the athlete has through out the day is actually used to recover the muscles of the body.

Sleep deprivation is when the athlete or person is not getting the right amount of sleep. Sleep loss can definitely affect performance, sleep is key to recovering the body for everyone. Alley et al. (2015) tell us, “Short sleep duration and poor quality of sleep has been associated with health risks including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity.” Alley et al. (2015) also show us, “Resistance exercise may offer additional benefits regarding the ability to fall asleep and stay asleep to populations with osteoporosis, sarcopenia, anxiety, or depression.” The reason I put this into the same situation is because resistance training also improves the amount of sleep and quality of sleep an athlete can have. Your body in a way will natural tell itself that it needs time to rest. This will be when it is beneficial for you to listen to your body, because it will tell you when it needs rest. Sleep deprivation is a lack of sleep. Sleep deprivation is common but needs to be stopped. Because, sleep is the key to recover and if you are not getting enough sleep you will never recover properly. Some simple things you can do to improve sleep is just by telling yourself to not look at any technology past 10pm and go to bed.

CRYPTOGRAPHY PRACTICAL CONNECTION 2

Cryptography practical connection

Present day organizations are putting away and dealing with a lion's share of their own

and private data online in a cloud with a continuous association with the web. This makes it

almost difficult to lead business such that holds your organization's information back from falling

into some unacceptable hands. It is for absolutely this explanation that organizations are fusing

encryption into their cloud information security intends to guard their information private and,

regardless of its area.

Organizations that presently can't seem to understand the advantages of distributed

computing in business are starting to discover that to make distributed storage safe, their

organization should be vigorously encoded. This doesn't imply that your business needs

government or military-grade encryption however; you simply need to utilize fundamental

encryption arrangements that can more readily secure your organization information. Here are a

couple of network protection tips that feature the significance of encryption and how your

business can utilize distributed computing for your potential benefit without causing an excessive

number of dangers from vindictive danger entertainers.

In spite of the fact that we utilize it in cutting edge day computing, cryptography has been

around since the early presence of mankind as a implies of composed mystery, which as it

were the started may get it. An illustration would be the Egyptian hieroglyphics which might as it

were be perused and composed by those included with the divine, such

as sovereignty and clerics. The word “hieroglyphs” determines from Greek and deciphers to

“holy writing”.

All in all I simply need to say, getting familiar with cryptography, I have perceived the

significance and the presence of this wonder around me. I feel how confused was I when I was

making exchange over the web. Presently, I am more mindful of the utilization of Cryptography

around me and can comprehend the different functionalities of Cryptography how it is done and

what is the pertinence of this subject. This subject will be a continually developing field since

there are humungous measure of dangers that any sort of monetary establishment face through a

Data break which can cost them a huge number of dollars and furthermore their kindness and

confidence on the lookout. I delighted in this course learning, it was exceptionally educational

and the conversations were valuable to comprehend others viewpoint too. The communication

was beneficial and I appreciate every one of my partners who were there to help and remarked

on my post decidedly and furthermore gave extraordinary criticism also on the data gave. By and

large it was an extraordinary encounter being in this class and I have taken in a great deal for my

future applications towards my work also.
